Paramount Pictures and Amblin Partners have finalized a deal to secure the music and life rights from Leonard Bernstein’s estate, with Bradley Cooper in talks to direct, deliver, and star in a biopic about the legendary arranger.

Josh Singer composed the content, and Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Fred Berner, Amy Durning, Emma Tillinger Koskoff, and Kristie Macosko Krieger will create. Cooper will also create the film through his generation company, Joint Effort.

Bernstein’s one of a kind versatility earned him unmatched acknowledgment as the transcendent American author of the twentieth century. An internationally celebrated musician, director, pianist, and artist, Bernstein gained omnipresent acclaim for his vast talent as the most youthful ever music chief of the New York Philharmonic, as well as his many creations for such worshipped preparations as “West Side Story,” “On the Waterfront,” and “Dwindle Pan,” as well as scores of other orchestral arrangements, ensembles, and musical pieces.

Scorsese and his delivering partner Koskoff first became required with the Bernstein family several years ago. Because of Scorsese’s inconceivably bustling creation plan and the requirement for some modifying, Spielberg and Cooper became engaged with the venture and reengaged the Bernstein estate. Cooper will now work in conjunction with alternate makers and Singer to additionally take a shot at the content.
